How Panicked Dad Took His Son From bottom of his kindergarten class to the top in just 1 month
After my son's kindergarten teacher told me in my first parent-teacher conference ever that my son's reading ability was below grade level, he did not meet expectations, and his vocabulary was lacking for his age.

When I stumbled on it, it made sense because I remembered that's actually how I was taught to read. You see, I didn't actually start attending school in the United States until the 5th grade. The way I was taught was to sound out words.
Let me explain: instead of teaching your child to read the word as a whole (sight word), what if we separated each letter and then taught the sounds of each letter that make up the word? For example, "Apple" becomes "A-P-L" and the sound is "A-Pa-L"
Using this very knowledge, I would then go on to spend several weeks expanding on this idea and creating even more advanced concepts on how to teach a child to read quickly.
